A boating accident on Independence Day which took the life of a 23-year-old man in Biscayne Bay is a reminder of the risks of boaters face on the water. The accident reportedly occurred when the boat on which the man was riding--along with his girlfriend and her family--was struck by another craft. As a result of the impact four people were killed, making it the most serious boating accident to have occurred in some time.
Trucking companies and truck drivers are bound by a variety of safety rules and regulations aimed at preventing truck accidents. Among these rules and regulations are those covering hours-of-service. Hours of service regulations cover a variety of points, but generally identify how long truckers can remain behind the wheel, how many hours can be logged in a work week, and the frequency and length of rest breaks.
