A boating accident on Independence Day which took the life of a 23-year-old man in Biscayne Bay is a reminder of the risks of boaters face on the water. The accident reportedly occurred when the boat on which the man was riding—along with his girlfriend and her family—was struck by another craft. As a result of the impact four people were killed, making it the most serious boating accident to have occurred in some time.
Trucking companies and truck drivers are bound by a variety of safety rules and regulations aimed at preventing truck accidents. Among these rules and regulations are those covering hours-of-service. Hours of service regulations cover a variety of points, but generally identify how long truckers can remain behind the wheel, how many hours can be logged in a work week, and the frequency and length of rest breaks.
