Woman killed others injured in 2-car wreck in Florida

One of the most dangerous aspects of driving on two-lane road in Florida or anywhere else is a vehicle traveling into one’s lane and causing a head-on or nearly head-on collision. These types of accidents can be especially devastating, causing serious or fatal injuries to vehicle occupants. One such collision recently occurred in the Sunshine State and claimed the life of an elderly woman.

Accident details

Around 6:30 p.m. on June 22, a 28-year-old man was driving a Chevy Tahoe pickup along CR 42. At the same time, a Ford Edge driven by a 75-year-old woman was approaching in the opposite direction. Reportedly, the pickup crossed the centerline and collided with the Edge nearly head-on.

The woman was killed at the scene, and her passengers, three women aged 57, 75 and 77, were each transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, as was the pickup truck driver. The women were still in the hospital with serious injuries as of the report release, but no word was given as to the status of the pickup driver.

Right to compensation

As is their right, the surviving family of the deceased woman and the injured parties can pursue wrongful death and personal injury claims, as appropriate, against the pickup driver along with anyone else who has ownership interest in his vehicle.  Affected parties will want to increase their chances of obtaining the compensation and justice they deserve, and they can work directly with an experienced personal injury attorney in Florida for assistance.
