Most people across Florida know that a property owner is responsible for maintaining safe premises. Failing to do so can leave them open to liability, especially if injuries are suffered on their property. And while most people often think of slips and falls when they think of premises liability, it’s worth noting that the actions of a person’s pet can also lead to liability as well.
“There is a family behind every hit and run,” the sister of a deceased 47-year-old South Florida woman told reporters this month. She and her family are still trying to cope with the fact that their loved one was struck by not only one inattentive driver but a second right after the first accident. And because both drivers are said to have fled the scene, the victim’s family is left with more questions than answers.
