3-car accident kills 2 in Florida

On Behalf of | Nov 24, 2014 | Car Accidents |

Two people are dead and several more are recovering in hospitals following a serious crash on the night of Nov. 19, according to local law enforcement. Florida police and emergency crews responded to the three-car accident just after 8:30 p.m. Police say charges in the case are pending, but none have been officially announced as of this report.

The accident record states a 32-year-old man was traveling westbound on County Road 675 when he attempted to make a left-hand turn. This brought him into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man, which crashed into the front of his vehicle. A third vehicle also struck the 32-year-old man’s car as the first two cars rotated in the middle of the intersection.

The 19-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger were both killed on impact. Two other passengers in the same vehicle were both critically injured and were rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.  The 32-year-old driver was also critically injured in the crash. So far, police have not filed formal charges, but they say they intend to. While the media report did not disclose further details, the initial evidence suggests that that left turning driver may face legal problems as a result of the tragedy.

If Florida police intend to press charges against one driver in this car accident, that driver could face criminal punishment if found guilty. Additionally, the injured parties involved in the crash will be entitled to file personal injury suits against the individual deemed responsible. The families of the deceased victims will also be entitled to file wrongful death suits in a civil setting.
