A horrible three-vehicle accident in Miami claimed one life and injured at least one other person. Authorities are still investigating the crash and hopefully they will determine who was responsible for the accident. Once they identify the driver deemed at fault, those adversely affected may elect to pursue legal claims against the driver to pursue recovery of monetary damages.
Accident details
The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 31 near the area of Seventh Avenue and Northwest 119th Street. Three vehicles were involved in the wreck, a Dodge car, a black Infiniti and a white Range Rover. There was possibly another car involved, but authorities have not confirmed that information. They also suspect speed played a role in causing the crash.
Video supplied by a witness show the Dodge performing stunts in the middle of an intersection shortly before the crash occurred. The car also had the number 305 written on the side, which is a known race club marking. Authorities did not confirm or deny the car was a part of any street racing team. Nevertheless, the driver of the car, unidentified except only through a first name, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Range Rover was taken to the hospital and was described to be in stable condition. The Infiniti driver was apparently not hurt.
Legal recourse for victims
If the evidence indicates the driver of the Dodge caused the accident, his estate can be named in a civil suit brought by those injured in the crash. They can also name anyone else who has ownership interest in the Dodge. If it’s determined one of the other drivers caused the accident, the surviving family members of the deceased can pursue wrongful death claims in an attempt at recovering damages. Either way, affected parties will want to work with an experienced personal injury attorney to increase their chances of obtaining a successful outcome.
