Fiery accident involving tractor-trailer claims man’s life

On Behalf of | Aug 4, 2022 | Truck Accidents |

Anyone who lives in Florida or has traveled through the state knows just how overcrowded and treacherous highways and interstates can be here. Driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic can be frustrating and stressful to say the least. And when there are also massive tractor-trailers near, it is easy for drivers in passenger vehicles to feel intimidated and even more at-risk. Because they are so massive, any accident involving a tractor-trailer has an increased chance of being serious or fatal for those in smaller vehicles.

Details of the deadly wreck

Recently in Palm Beach County, an accident involving a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle killed a motorist. The crash happened during the morning hours along the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near exit 50 between Delray Beach and Boca Raton. According to accident reports, a vehicle was stationary in the right lane when it was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer.

Reports said the force of the impact caused the vehicle to catch on fire. Tragically, authorities said the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There was no word on the status of the tractor-trailer driver. All lanes of I-95 South were closed near Delray Beach for hours, police said.

Where can victims and families go for help?

There will always be a need to ship goods and products throughout the country, and tractor-trailers are the most efficient way to do this. This means sharing the road with massive commercial trucks will be an inevitability for motorists in Florida for years to come. Those who suffer injuries or the loss of a loved one due to negligence in truck accidents can get help by speaking with a trusted and experienced attorney. A lawsuit, if successful, could result in victims and families receiving much-needed and deserved monetary relief.
