Details of a fatal DUI crash
A recent accident in St. Petersburg left one person dead and a driver facing serious charges. The crash happened during the evening hours at the intersection of 38th Avenue North and 40th Street North. Apparently, a sedan was headed west on 38th Avenue North approaching the intersection. When the sedan entered the intersection, it crashed violently into a pickup truck that was heading north on 40th Street, reports said.
Reportedly, the impact caused the truck to flip over. Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. According to police reports, two children in the sedan were injured and taken to a local hospital. Police said the driver of the sedan was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter and two counts of child neglect.
