Recently, a man was convicted and sentenced after driving drunk and causing a fatal accident in Ocala. The accident happened at the intersection of County Road 484 and County Road 467. Apparently, the man was driving east on County Road 484 and failed to stop at the traffic light at the intersection. According to accident reports, his vehicle collided with a car at the intersection, causing the car to flip and land on its roof in a ditch.
The car that was hit was occupied by a man and his two young granddaughters. Tragically, all three were killed in the crash. Police said the driver who caused the wreck was charged with DUI, three counts of DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage. Reportedly, he was recently convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
